description

SDHC seeking stories for new book!

Lawrence Diggs (the 'Vinegar Man' and SD Humanities Scholar) will be hosting 'Civic Reflections' at the library for the afternoon to record stories for the SDHC book in an 'open mic' format.

In celebration of SDHC 40th Anniversary, they are collecting stories for the newest book in the SDHC’s “South Dakota Stories” series. The new book, which will be revealed at the 2012 Festival of Books, seeks to answer the question "What Makes a South Dakotan?" They want the “real stories” of the authentic South Dakota experience. Drawing on your personal experiences and observations, tell your story.

Stories will be collected through Civic Reflections gatherings throughout the state. The Humanities Council is also accepting stories online. (See link)
